The Middle East is a region of Asia between the Mediterranean Sea and the Far East. The official religion of Israel is Judaism, but the majority religion of most of the Middle East is Islam. There are also various Christian churches in the Middle East, most notably the Assyrian Church of the East and other forms of Syriac Christianity.
Most of the Bible is set in the Middle East, although Paul's journeys took him as far west as Rome.
