Santa Claus

A man dressed as a traditional Father Christmas.

Father Christmas (or Santa Claus) is an originally English mythical figure who serves as a personification of Christmas. He was originally created as a counter-reaction to Puritan objections to the feast of Christmas in the 17th century. Originally depicted in a green suit, he became identified with Santa Claus in the 19th century and switched to red, due to an advertising campaign by Coca Cola.
