Episcopal Diocese of Wyoming[]
The Episcopal Diocese of Wyoming is part of the Episcopal Church in the United States, covering the state of Wyoming except for one congregation in the west, which belongs to the Diocese of Idaho. It was founded in 1887 and is part of Province VI. The cathedral is St. Matthew's Cathedral in Laramie, and diocesan offices are located in Casper.
The diocese began as a Missionary District under Bishop Ethelbert Talbot. Between 1898 and 1909, the area was overseen by bishops from neighboring districts. In 1909, Bishop Nathaniel Thomas became the second diocesan bishop. As of 2022, the diocese includes 44 congregations and 5,776 members.
Paul G. Chandler was consecrated as the 10th bishop in 2021. In 2025, Bishop Todd Ousley began serving as provisional bishop.
